Can you transfer me to an english speaking person please?

I think it's funny when customer calls in and after we've discussed their needs, they ask to be put through to another company.
I mean another completely different company with no connection to the one I actually work for.

Can you imagine calling your local gas, water or electricity company and asking to be put through to another utility?

Like we're all connected… one giant call centre here for the needs of the masses.

The customers always seem to be shocked when I say "no, they're another company".
Can you imagine calling Pizza Hut for a pizza delivery then asking to be transferred to a Myer Department store?

********************************

I have to wonder why people who can barely speak English, call into the call centre without having an interpreter handy.
At least once a day you can hear me saying "I'm sorry I don't understand you"

While I admire that they try, it's the most frustrating thing and as a customer, wouldn't you want to be certain the correct information was conveyed? Why would you chance calling about a meter installation if you can't give basic information?

I had someone just recently who wanted a meter installed. I asked him if the line had been brought into the property. He said "yeah" but I knew he had no idea what I had asked. So I said "So what I'm asking is, has the line been brought into the property or are you ringing now to have the line brought in?" and his response was "yeah".

It's very frustrating!

Filming and Editing...

I spent all of yesterday filming and editing this video clip. I'd love some constructive criticism.
Have I used too many camera angles? Could the lighting be different? Are there too many camera angle changes?

I used a mic this time... Has that made it better or is the piano not loud enough?

At the risk of being self indulgent, I'd love to hear your thoughts about this clip... that is, if anyone actually stumbles across this blog and sees it!!!

Good News

I'm very happy to report that my spot was benign! woo hoo! One less thing to worry about!

In fact I've been riding on some kind of high today! Not sure why but why question a good feeling?
Even the person mentioned a couple of entries ago has barely managed to raise my blood pressure with the incessant chatting.

I'm looking forward to doing a bit of filming and video editing on the weekend. I have a few thoughts in mind but they centre around a music clip. Hope what I'm planning works out!If it looks presentable enough I'm sure I'll upload the clip somewhere!

This week...

I don't really want to write too much about this but thought I'd just mention that I went to the doctors on Monday to have a spot looked at.

It looked to me, to be just like the one that was a melanoma that was removed late 2007.

I could be wrong
of course...

But the doctor removed it and it's being tested this week.
So I should find out either way in the next few days...

At least this tim
e I took photos of it BEFORE it was removed!

Letter To An Unamed Person

I want to tell you to shut up. I'm so thankful I don't have to see you every day because sometimes while you're going on and on and on about something you've already told me, I just want to slap your face and yell "shut up!!!"

I don't want to hear how big your boobs are. I've heard that story. I know it's hard for you to exercise with enormous boobs. They don't look that enormous to me but hey, I'll take your word for it but ultimately, I really don't give a damn!

I don't want to hear how caring and loving you are. I've heard that story many times. yes I know you're thoughtful, you care too much about others and they take you for granted...

I don't want to hear how stressed you are. You've told me over and over again. I'll just assume you're stressed until you tell me otherwise.

I don't want to hear about your offspring. You love him. I get it. He's perfect, I get it. I'm happy for you but for godsakes woman! Telling me a couple of times is enough!!

Why don't you know that if I'm busy doing something important, I won't be interested in hearing what you're going to have for lunch. Do you really want me to stop working on my important document or deadline to ponder with you whether you should have yoghurt or a sandwich??

Why don't you see how much you whinge and whine!! Why don't you know that?? You tell me how bad everyone else is, then tell me how caring and soft you are and it just doesn't add up!!

I don't want to hear how you think you have a guardian angel and you believe in spirits and god knows what else. Believe in your fairies if you like, I'm not going to stop you, but don't expect me to believe otherwise and honestly, the more you talk about it, the more fruity you make yourself appear.

I don't want to EVER know you're wearing matching underwear. That is way too much information.

I don't want you to lump me into your ethnic group because we're NOT the same!

I resent being asked a question, then be compltely ignored when I stop what I'm doing to answer your asinine enquiry.

But when you're quiet, I think you're lovely.

Your

exasperated ,

"person you know"

Making Muffins

It didn't matter that it was 40 degrees celsius... I had intended to make muffins and that's exactly what I did!
Not just one batch, but three... and this time, I filmed it because so many times people ask me how I do this and that and as I don't follow recipes, I can't always give definitive answers.
So if you're really keen, here's a video of me making banana, coffee and chocolate muffins on a very very hot day!

Your Opinion or Silence Preferred

I love my hairdresser, I really do, but sometimes I dread going there.

Why?

Because I know the ninety minutes or so I'm going to spend there will be full of my own and only my own opinion.
My hairdresser loves to chat. Actually I'm not sure if she loves to chat, or if she simply feels it's her duty to do so... So no matter what I say in response to whatever subject comes up, she always agrees with me.

One time it was almost comical the backstep she took when she had misinterpreted something I said, and was going along with the opposite opinion until she realised that wasn't the side I was on...

The hairdresser I had when the kids were babies was definitely the best I've ever had. I miss him! He was quick, thorough, did exa
ctly what I wanted, was very affordable and didn't talk! PERFECT!

This current one is good but definitely below the very high bar my perfect hairdresser set.
She's quickish.. thorough, does exactly what I want her to do. Is reasonably priced but feels it's her duty to chat. I sometimes feel like telling her "Look, you really don't have to talk to me. I'm pefectly fine to sit here and flip through this mindless magazine while you work your expertise" but how can you say that in a nice way?

So as I'm only there once every two months or
so, I let her do her job knowing that it's a small price to pay for good re-colour!
