It's a fact, at least it's a Margot fact, that nobody outside of your car, can hear you when you're singing in the car.Why do I know that's a fact? Because when I'm driving around, or stopped at the lights, I can't hear anyone else singing in their cars!!! (Regardless of the fact that those people aren't singing)
So it follows, that they wouldn't be able to hear me... even if my windows are wound down a touch... I'm sure my fact is still true.
So why do I get those strange looks????
This little Margot fact also extends to MP3 players. If I have my MP3 blaring away in my ears, people can't really hear me singing along to it because I can't hear myself can I? So if I can't hear it, and I'm right there, how could anyone else who's further away from me hear it?
Stands to reason right?
On a deathly still Easter Sunday morning, I brought up my Music program and picked a few little songs to listen to before I went for my run. One of those songs was Amy Stewarts, "Knock on Wood" from a very long time ago... This is one of my favourite songs because no matter what mood I'm in when I start to hear it, I'm always in a positive mood by the end!
So in the Easter Sunday Silence, as this song came on, my little engine became revved up and not two bars in, I was screaming away at the top of my lungs.
Now, I'm in the comfort of my own home so although Deno could hear me (but he didn't say anything so I'd have to think he didn't mind) I'm sure the rest of the street couldn't hear me and I have no reason to be embarrassed as I drive out sheepishly a little later this morning....
Right?

Hahahaha! That's hilarious that you wrote your blog about this because when Dougie and I were driving out of SeaTac (the Seattle airport), there was a guy walking along the street who was obviously listening to his MP3 player and he was singing to the songs (at least I think it was the songs) at the top of his lungs. Dougie and I were laughing so hard because he was not only REALLY loud but painfully off-key and completely oblivious to the world around him. It was fantastic!
